Pure Spirits Oyster House & Grill

Before heading to the Sake brewery here, we had lunch at Pure Spirits since they had the largest patio and no wait time  (also because Boiler House wasn't open)  =P It was my first time there and I love the inside too, but our goal is to get a little bit of patio time.

Got a nice sunny table and got my first tan ^_^
.

♥ Mill Street Lemon Tea Beer that I mention here
It was super refreshing with a very smooth, quenching and slightly sweet taste which is perfect for a hot summer patio day (^_^) It`s basically the best part of this meal =P

@ Distillery

What a big difference compare to our last visit to The Distillery back in December here. We decided to head down for the day since we wanted to try out the Sake brewery (a huge disappointment), do some chocolate shopping @ Soma and get some patio time =D

Got this old Vintage Couch on ebay, what do you think since this is my first time wearing vintage/used items online =P

IZUMI - Ontario Spring Water Sake Company

Was so excited when I first hear about a Sake brewery opening up at Distillery and as the weather was so great last Saturday, we decided to spend a day at the  Distillery. The Ontario Spring Water Sake Company is eastern North America's first sake brewery using traditional Japanese methods and recipes with Ontario spring water and it is member of the Brewing Society of Japan.

It's a lot smaller than I've expected, there's was barely 6 seats by the tiny bar where you can try their sake by glass.

Stonegrill

Got a TeamBuy coupon of $30 for $60 worth of food and drink at Stonegrill. Let's just say, I bought it mainly for Ben since he wanted to go for a while and it was a good deal but personally I just can't justified myself paying that price to cook my own meal (>_<). Basically, Stonegrill use a "dry cooking" method where meat is cooked on a super hot natural volcanic stone and the high cooking temperature will cook the meat super fast, lock in the natural juices, nutrients and flavors.

When we arrived at around 7:00pm on a Wednesday night, it was barely 1/3 full even with the deal going on

The service was relatively slow since there was only one waiter for the whole place including bar duties. The bread was really so so, a bit tough but the hummus was really good.

Blue Print

What do you thing of this version of Blue Animal Print compare to the one here and here?!?
I personally love this bright blue color instead of the usually black/grey or brown version =P

I'm usually not into huge ruffles on top since it makes me look top heavy and I feel it's more suited for slimmer petite silhouette but this one-shoulder version was an exception =)

INATEI

Inatei is one of my go to sushi place uptown and it's basically next to where I work, so I've been there for lunch and dinner for quite a few time but never really took pictures =P It is one of the few places uptown that you could get fresh good quality sashimi instead of the AYCE Japanese places that's all over Richmond Hill. I'm personally not into AYCE due to the lack of quality and I only go for friends gathering but never on my own. When the owner saw me taking pictures, he came over to make sure the name of the restaurant is in the pic and ask me to share it on facebook =P

Love the wood accent with the bright black and red flower seats =)

there's 2 more private room at the end of the restaurant

One of my fave SAKE ♥

 Complimentary Salad and Miso Soup

Sashimi Moriawase
Fresh, yummy !!! what else need I say

Geoduck
This was some sort of special version and was way overpriced but it was so SWEET

Salmon Roe Sushi (my must order at every sushi place)

TAKO
~ octopus, cucumber & seaweed in house vinaigrette
This was not as good as I remember having last time, the octopus lack of flavor.. maybe should have left it in the vinaigrette for a bit longer

Fried Soft Shell Crab
It was served piping hot, it was so fresh and quite a big size.

Chicken Wing stuffed with dumpling
This was really good but way overpriced for just one wing which I could get 3pcs at the same price at Izakaya Ju from my post here

Cucumber Roll w/ spicy salmon
♥ it, super cuter, great presentation, super refreshing and light.
No rice here, replace by the cold thin slices of fresh cucumber and the only thing I'll change about this is wish the crab meat is replace by the more salmon =P

Uni hand-roll (sea urchin)
We just can't resist and have to order this, there was quite a bit of uni in it and you'll get some in very bite until the very end

Sesame Ice-Cream
We order 1 scoop but our waiter actually came back and said it was complimentary from the owner and ask us if we would want one for each instead.... but since we also ordered another dessert, we stick with only one

Tofu Cheesecake
This was super smooth and light with just very light hint of tofu and cheese flavor without one overpowering the other. It was a great end to our meal and cleans our palette after all the fish and sake

Verdict :
Have been coming since it open and won't be stopping anytime
Fresh Sashimi, well priced sake, great location and very friendly service

Primo Veal

Primo Veal is a very small take out place at 3105 Sheppard Av E with barely 2-3 bar stool by the window. Serves up really good Veal Sandwich and all the food is made fresh right in front of you by the super friendly couple/owner. This is my first visit and I can't believe I didn't know if this place earlier =P

Small menu with daily pasta special which I'll have to go back to try

X-MAN

Fell in love with this vintage looking tee from man's section at H&M and since Ben didn't like it, I'll get it for myself. I just bought it in a bigger size and cut off the collar across the shoulder... I sometimes find regular t-shirt a bit boring and I just like to do some DIY to give it my own personal twist and also a great way to make an oversize tee a better fit without looking like sleepwear =P
What do you thing ???

Chicken & Noodles Chinese restaurant

This is one of the restaurant that I've been going back again and again since I first came to Toronto some 14 years ago. For the past few years, I tend to go back for the same dishes over and over again.

Chilli Oil
Most of you should know already that I love spicy food, so I just have to mention that they have one of the best chilli oil in Toronto. Def my fave =P

Dry shrimp eggs E-fu Noodle w/ mushroom 子伊面
Okay, I really don't remember the English translation so sorry if it's nor exact on their menu.
This rather plain noodle is much more than what you would expect it to be... when you look closer, you see the small dry shrimp eggs on it which gives it a super aromatic flavor and it very delicious on it's own... I usually eat one bowl just as it is and then I'll add their chilli oil to my second =P

My Cherry Blossom Substitute

I really do not want to go to the over hype High Park for the Cherry Blossoms since it's really so crowded that you won't be able to take a picture without a bunch of other people in it... so I've still never been after so many years (>-<)
I do think this is a good substitute, it's  minutes from my house and it's as pretty
o(^_^)o
