Paulette's Original Donuts & Chicken

After the BBQ goodness from Leslieville Pump here, we manage to go next door to the newly open Paulette's Original Donuts & Chicken  (@paulettesorig). It was the first opening weekend and I already expected a line up since there's been a lot of buzz since the day it opened.

Love the cute uniform (^_^) ♥
But be prepare that there's only a few stool by the window with no table/bar whatsoever.

We got all 6 flavors to try :
Mango Yuzu, Cinnamon Latte, Rootbeer Float
Raspberry Rose, Blueberry Balsamic, D'Oreo

I thing this extremely sweet and the batter was much denser than your regular donuts.
The flavors are definitely one of a kind and that's what drew me to it... but it was way too sweet and we only took a bite of each to try out the flavors :(

 Fried Chicken Combo $14.95
~ include 1/2 chicken, 1 side & 1 sauce
We choose the mac & cheese & sumac oregano salt and I find the pasta a bit bland and the chicken skin on top not crispy.... but love the fried chicken ♥. Their chicken goes through a 24-hour brining process, battered and the double fired; which means no replenishing when sold out for the day... and it's all worth it since it was flavorful even without the salt and was very crispy. And the double frying gives it a extra layer of flavor and texture which I love

Verdict :
Love the Fried Chicken and will definitely be back for more
but not so much for the sweet & heavy donuts although I can think of quite a few people who would love it.
