Hoof Café

Two weekends ago, The Black Hoof (@TheBlackHoof) owner Jen Agg tweeted one of the best news that Toronto brunchers have been waiting to hear since Hoof Café closed back in 2011. Brunch hours will be from Thursday to Saturday 10am to 3pm and Sunday 10am to 4pm at Hoof Raw Bar (right next to Black Hoof). This pass weekend we arrive at around 1:15pm and was expecting a lineup but the place was half empty; maybe because news haven't gone out yet or we were really lucky.

It took me all the willpower not to order the Foie Toast (def next time)

Isn't the camping mug and cow creamer so cute

 Milk Bread $3
Nothing special, def not "milky" enough and it's not house-made. Skip-able =P

Fried Sweetbreads N' Waffle $16
This was perfect type of brunch food for me with the traditional waffle but with a twist... love the spicy syrup which balance the salty of the sweetbread and sweet waffle perfectly.

 Side of House Bacon $5
This was thick and salty, perfect with the rest of the waffle which didn't get a piece of the sweetbread.

 Heart N' Eggs $12
First time having cow hearts and it was so tender, moist, smooth and just perfectly cook.. love it together with the salsa verde. The scrambled egg was made with bone marrow and it was just yummy smooth delicious goodness.

Blood Sausage McMuffin $6
After all the food above, we still wanted to try something else since everything from the menu look so good and we decided on the cheapest item.... it was the best breakfast muffin ever and well worth the $6. Love the grainy mustard with the sausage, great contrast of flavor and texture...

This will latter be available to-go w/ Sam James coffee for $10 once the weather warms up
.

Love this Instagram (@kiki_BFF) with Ben holding the camera in the backdrop... somehow the mug, cow etc goes w/ his checked shirt very well (^_^)

Verdict :
Although the menu changed, it's just as good.
Loved everything and can't wait to go back to try the rest of the menu
(please no line up when I go back *crossing fingers)
