Boxcar Social [Coffee]

Boxcar Social (@boxcar_social) which is named after the train bridge and old station just across the street is a cozy two storey house offering a curated, rotating list of coffees from different roasters across North America.

Love the atmosphere and you can feel the love for coffee here... Coffee is approached with such passion here, each cup is ground to order since it depends on the type and use of it. And I know of no other coffee shop in Toronto who has coffee flights on their permanent menu.

Pour Over Coffee, an old fashion coffee technique that uses a funnel dripper is very time consuming. I don't know of any other coffee shop who has it on their menu, most other places I go to will only made in during their down time and only if you asked nicely. Pouring the water by hand slowly over the coffee is suppose to extract more flavors.

 Featured Coffee Flight $6.75
~ 3 Coffees Brewed and Served Side-by-Side

Kenya Kabingara, Phil and Sebastian, Calgary, AB - currants, grape, prune, juicy, full
Columbia La Virgen, Anchored Coffee Roaster, Dartmouth, NS - marmalade, cocoa, brown sugar
Columbia Los Lagos, 49th Street, Vancouver, BC - strawberry,  delicate, floral

 La Virgen Flight $6.75
~ Espresso, Macchiato and Pourover of Colombia La Virgen by Anchored Coffee Roaster
One bean, 3 roast to make 3 different types of coffee. It's just amazing how it all taste so different.

They will be getting their liquor license, so the beer, wine and scotch is coming soon. We are so excited about this concept, we have been saying for some time how we don't have something like that in Toronto.

Verdict :
For the price of a large coffee at your chain coffee shop, you got to taste quality coffee that's made with such passion and care. Great Deal !!!
Can't wait until the the beer, wine and scotch tasting
