CNE 2014

It's the end of summer already and the only consolation is that it mean CNE Canadian National Exhibition (@letsgototheex) time. I was debating if I should go this year but I end up winning a pair of tickets from work, so no-brainer.

Not really a fan of the rides but it's always fun to play a came or two although we never win anything.
Basically we just love walking around taking in the atmosphere, but of course food is the main event for me (^_^)

Coco's Fried Chicken ~ Cocoa Infused Fried Chicken
These far exceed my expectation, cocoa infused fried chicken coated and seasoned with cocoa. It's not the created looking in that dark chocolate color but it was fried fresh batch after batch, super crispy and the chicken was moist and flavorful. Love the slight bitter and hint of sweetness from the cocoa powder. Order it with the Chocolate Ketchup dip and it was so so so good, it look super thick like melted chocolate but it actually have pretty strong sour ketchup flavor.

Hula Girl Espresso ~ Butter Coffee & Crowbar
Brewed Coffee with a dollop of butter, this is definitely the moment I wish it was winter. So rich and indulgent. The Crowbar is a croissant baked with a chocolate bar inside with choice of Kit Kat, Caramilk, Reese's Peanut Butter Cup or Mars Bar. We had the Reese and it was yummy, only wish it was fresh out of the oven or even warm, With the butter coffee, the croissant wasn't buttery enough.

Miami Ice
The Ice Pop is at $4 each, it was pretty tasty but there were very icy... frozen for too long? It was refreshing after all the heavier stuff we had and being inside the hot Food Building but it's really nothing compare to the local natural ice pop in Toronto.

Fran's ~ Thanksgiving Waffle & Peanut Butter Sriracha Bites
Stuffing waffle stuffed with roast turkey, mashed potatoes, cranberry and smothered with a thick house made gravy. This was a relatively healthy option compare to the other offering at CNE and it was filling and delicious. Love stuffing and the entire waffle was so good with the super thick gravy together with the sweet bits of cranberries. Yummmmm!!!

The Peanut Butter Sriracha Bites was delicious but not amazing, peanut butter and the rolls are sort of the same texture. Plus wish it was a bit spicier.

Food truck Frenzy

Northern Comfort Saloon is this year new addition where you can enjoy beer, comfort food and listen to some country bands.

Always fun time at the CNE and this year the food is worth all the hype.
Everything we tried were delicious.
