iYellow Wine Club ~ #ShirazWeek [EVENT]

Was so glad to be invited by iYellow Wine Club (@iyellowwineclub) to this amazing #ShirazWeek event where we got to taste 17 different variety.

Shiraz is definitely something that I use to drink a lot since I find it goes well with most Chinese meat dishes and usually super affordable. Since I drank too much of it at one point, I have been ignoring it for a while and this event was just what I needed to rekindle.
Have always like Wolf Blass Grey Label but the 2011 here was quite a disappointment especially given that it was the most expensive wine of the night at around $40 a bottle.
.

There was also a mystery wine that night and it was reveal being Yellow Tail which was actually quite pleasant and I found it better than half the wine we tasted. Good old Yellow Tail, no need to be fancy here and who say we had to be wine snob and drink less known or smaller brand.

The Formula, Robert's Shiraz - Small Gully, 2010
~ $19.95 at LCBO -Vintage 142935
Being the first wine I tasted that night, somehow it stuck with me and became my favorite. It had dried berries flavors and was full bodied with a very well balance acidity and tannins to it. One of the rare smooth finish Shiraz we had that night. Need to find myself a few bottle of this.
These 2 was a tied 2nd of the night, Dog vs Cat

Jim Jim The Down-Underdog, Hugh Hamilton Shiraz 2013
~ $15.95 at LCBO - Vintage 682005
With Blueberry flavor, this was less smooth than the Formula

Teusner The Independent Shiraz Mataro 2012
~ $19.95 at LCBO - Vinatge 289876
This was very similar to the previosu one with blueberry flavor but with more of a smoky finish to it.

Verdict:
Another fun night at the iYellow Wine cave, love the idea of the passport which allow you to taste all the wine at your own pace.
If you haven't been to one of their event or classes, I would highly recommend it.
*** This class was complimentary but opinions are my own ***
