Scaddabush [Scarborough - Italian]

Scaddabush (@scaddabush) recently open it's 4th location at Scarborough and I was invited for a Media dinner, I was very curious about the food of this new chain restaurant. It was located just outside of Scarborough Town Center which is very convenient both by car or transit.

It was a family style meal prepared by Executive Chef Steve Silvestro and we were joined by volunteers from the Bluff Food Bank, the charity that's supported by sales of Scaddabush's house made "Charity Bread".

Charity Bread (Original $4.25 / Spicy $4.75 / 3-Cheese $5.25)
Did you know the sales of their "Charity Bread" at each location support a local charity of the area and their net proceeds all go to the charity. Delicious and for a great cause, no excuse needed to order all 3 flavors (^_<)

They also have a Mozzarella Bar where they make fresh mozzarella to order.

Naked $12.98
~ w/ extra virgin olive oil, focaccia crostini, San Marzano tomato jam, sea salt
Love the tomato jam with the mozzeralla

Bomba Burrata $15.98
~ infused w/ cream, served w/ spicy roasted tomato and chili ragu, fresh basil, double-smoked bacon, extra virgin olive oil, shili flakes, focaccia crostini
This was my favorite since the heat of the skillet kept the cheese soft for longer and love the flavorful spicy sauce with the half melted cheese.

Burrata $13.98
~ infused w/ honey and truffle cream, focaccia crostini
Definetly need to work on a better presentation on this one, rather drab.

Tuscan Salad $13.97
~ baby green kale, arugula, marinated raisins, toasted pumpkin seeds, semi sun-dried tomatoes, Cipollini onions, Pecorino cheese, balsamic lemon vinaigrette
Love this salad although it was a tad overdressed, all the components are just so delicious all together especially the pop of flavor from the Cipollini Onions.
(sorry forgot to take a picture of the salads)

Straight Up Meatball (Classic $12.98 / Stuffed $13.58)
~ signature meatball w/ focaccia crostini, three-cheese sauce, garlic chips, fresh basil, Sunday sauce w/ pancetta

Smoked Bacon & Egg Pizza $15.96
~ double-smoke bacon, mushroom, freshly cracked egg, stracciatella, chili oil, mozerella, caramelized onions, chilies
Love the idea of the cracked egg on top which you get to mix it up at the table.

Their pasta are made in house daily and they have whole wheat and gluten-free version available as well.

Lobster Spaghetti (Small $20.65 / Regular $26.32 / Social $47.38)
~ lobster, spicy tomato cream sauce, roasted tomatoes, roasted peppers, arugula, poor man's Parmesan
Lots of lobster here but the sauce is a bit watery and the spaghetti couldn't really hold the sauce at all.

Pesto Pollo Fettuccine (Small $15.43 / Regular $20.97 / Social $34.15)
~ sauteed chicken, baby spinach, semi sun-dried tomatoes, basil pesto cream sauce
This was by far my favorite pasta of the night, although I am not a big fan of the chicken but the sauce was just too amazing with their house made fettuccine which is my fave pasta.

Zucca Ravioli (Small $15.97 / Regular $19.97 / Social $35.95)
~butternut squash ravioli, grated Grana Padano cheese, hazelnut butter cream sauce, fried sage, poor man's Parmesan
Thought the butternut squash filling and the cream sauce was a tad sweet for my taste but love the fried sage which not only added a pop of flavor but texture as well.

Poor Man's Parmesan is basically fried bread crumbs with garlic and sometimes chili, people use to use it on top of pasta when they don't have enough of money to buy the real thing.

Tiramisu, Zeppole & Cheesecake

Verdict :
What an amazing night with amazing people and amazing food.
Especially love their housemade fresh pasta dishes and will love to come back for Pesto Pollo Fettuccine
And please do not forget to support their "Charity Bread"
