Jackpot Chicken Rice [Hainanese Chicken Rice]

Always in search for a good Hainanese Chicken Rice in Toronto, so as soon as I hear that the same team from Patois (post here) open up new place called Jackpot Chicken Rice (@eatjackpot), I just had to go right away.
Love the bright color of the Maoist propaganda style graffiti wall,

And those super cute, colorful clever colanders light fixture, so in love!

Coconut & Shrimp Chips w/ Peanut Sauce $4.50
Not much shrimp flavor if you ask me which make the price tag a bit steep for just those few pieces.

Jackpot Chicken Rice Meal $13.75
The chicken was poached to perfection, very flavorful moist and de-boned. The soup was right while the ginger and green onion sauce was perfect ratio and texture although on the salty side. Not sure the hot & kecap manis sauce goes well with the dish, wish they had the standard chili vinegar sauce instead. For me the rice is the star of this dish aka the "chicken oil rice" which is cooked with the schmaltz chicken broth and this was too wet although very flavorful.

You can add Extra Crispy Skin for $2

Kaya French Taste w/ Pineapple Sauce
Love kaya toast and love how they did it in Hong Kong French Toast Style but not sure the pineapple sauce goes all that well with the kaya

Verdict :
The chicken was good but definitely need to work on the rice.
On the pricey side for a Chinese rice dish if you ask me, easily double the regular price of other places.

NOTE : When we went, they accepted CASH only
